Thanks for the tip about putting a dish towel over the pot, under the lid, so that the crust still turned out crispy. I will have to try that.

Grating the butter over the cobbler is a good idea! That would definitely be a good way to distribute it evenly.
Good to know that pouring over the melted butter is not as efficient–that’s exactly what I thought.
I am going to try this with peaches at some point, so stay tuned!

It turned out fabulous. I also added cinnamon & nutmeg. I put a dish towel over the pot then placed the cover on top while it cooked on low for four hours. When done I removed the lid and dish towel which removed the moisture. It was still a crumbly top. This gives you back the use of your stove. Super easy

It would make it easy to distribute the butter evenly. And, it’s fast, no slippery knives trying to slice butter thinly, so it safer too.
I’ve made this a long long time ago, with canned peaches, cake mix and melted butter But pouring the melted butter ran so it was uneven and left dry patches.

I agree that this recipe is very easy. I don’t have a crock pot (yes, I know that I am behind, lol), but I will have to get one so that I can try making a crock pot cobbler one day.
Yes, please do give this oven baked cobbler a try. My guess is that it will turn out crispier than in the crock pot, but I am curious to hear your feedback.
Peach and blueberry cobbler sounds great! I have something else to try this summer, haha

You can also use your crock pot to make cobbler that’s how I been doing it for years. But it takes 3 hours on high temperature but I am definitely going to bake it instead. Thank you for sharing. My favorite is peach with some fresh blueberries.
